Karen has been in the mental health field for over 10 years. She has been a provider and a manager for the county's public services. Karen implements psychodynamic psychotherapy as well as other evidence-based practices. She specializes in trauma and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Her wish is to help others find ways to cope and heal through life's adversities in a way that is validating and true to themselves. Karen has extensive experience and training working with the military population, military surviving families, the LGBTQIA population, domestic violence, and trauma victims. Karen has worked with co-occurring disorders, HIV/AIDS, terminal illnesses, and court-mandated cases. Throughout her career she has treated anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, bipolar disorder, addiction, postpartum, grief, and suicide loss. Karen serves as a contracted Clinical Supervisor for a non-profit organization training new therapist in the field of clinical services. Karen is bilingual (Spanish).

Nery is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience working as an individual psychotherapist with children, youth and adults. Her work experience includes providing direct therapy to clients and serving as a Director of Behavioral Health Services in a community mental health setting. Her practice is geared towards assisting clients in overcoming life's adversities and living a healthy life. Nery utilizes multiple evidence based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and has specialty training for treating trauma with Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She is passionate about working with LGBT community, and individuals facing adverse challenges.
Nery currently sees adults only. She is bilingual in Spanish and sees clients via Telehealth or in person in the city of San Fernando.
